I recently visited the Temple of the Tooth Relic in Kandy, and it was truly a peaceful and spiritual experience. The atmosphere was calm and filled with the scent of incense and the sound of traditional drums. Seeing the sacred tooth relic of Lord Buddha felt very special, and the beautifully decorated temple with ancient carvings and paintings added to the wonder. I also got to witness the evening pooja, which was a powerful moment of devotion.
Visit during pooja times (morning, noon, or evening) to witness traditional rituals and drumming.
Explore the entire complex, including the museum, audience hall, and the beautiful lake nearby.
Wear white or light-coloured clothes as a sign of respect.
Avoid loud conversations or taking photos during religious ceremonies.
Dress modestly (cover shoulders and knees)—it's a sacred site.
